In 2014, Wilsons fame exploded across the pond with greater prominence after she was cast in Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart an unreliable young woman with a dark past who falls for a married man named Noah Solloway. Wilson received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress of an Television Series in Drama 2015, along with Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson said in British Vogue, "I loved getting to portray an actor who could be both sides of this story." Noah perceives Alison to be this stylish and sexy model. But Alison views herself in a different light. On the inside she's like a dowdy. She also said that she does not believe America to be so moralistic. Wilson left the show in 2018 after a lot of fans' dismay, though she wasn't clear on the specifics. I was in a position to give up and she would not permit me to talk about it. In 2016, she was a part as the Pretty Thing in the House in the film I Am the Pretty Thing. And in 2017, played the cryptic PT Stella, in the sci fi rom com How to Talk to Girls at Parties. To add to her list of horror films Wilson is also set to appear in the British movie adaptation to The Little Stranger. The supernatural thriller was adapted from the Sarah Waters' novel. Wilson is the executive producer of the movie.
